A few thoughts on Protests and Support Rallies...

The biggest problem with protests and rallies, is that the populous is stirred up momentarily.

Time is relative.
So, that "moment" they are stirred up and rallying for a cause may be a day, a week, or even a month, but eventually the majority of people are going to go about their business and forget what they were so emotional over only a fraction of time ago.

In order for us to make a change, we have to show up in numbers on a regular basis. If there is a rally, and there are 150 people the first time,
and only 100 the next,
and only 50 the next...
we lose the spotlight.

But if our numbers GROW with each rally... then we are getting somewhere.

You can't make it to every rally or protest. It is rare that we have lives that allow us such freedoms to be at every thing, all the time.
I understand. I can't make it to every one. I didn't make it to the one last week cause I had my kids. Not an appropriate place for a 9 or 10 year old, although I would love to expose them to the wonders that would come from a world of equality.

Let's make sure our participation increases with each rally so we can guarantee we are heard and that justice is served.

This is not about just the LGBT people standing together, this is about PEOPLE standing together for equality.

I have heard people say they don't go because they aren't gay, or bi, or leather...
So what?
If you care about equality, you should be at these rallies.
If you have a gay friend, this affects you if you care for them at all.
If you feel your sex life should not be the concern of others, this affects you.

Hold the police accountable for their actions.
Hold the human race accountable for being decent to one another.

Do it by standing beside your friends and community.
